Honoring those in Uniform

An airman came up to me to make a bag for his wife. It's her birthday soon and the liner in her bag is his military uniform.

Another order consists of a fireman's shirt uniform. It's a gift to his mother in honor of his career.

I love doing these kind of bags since my husband is also in the Air Force. When he's away or off in a deployment, it's so wonderful to have his very own shirt tucked right under my arm. You can say it's like a comfort blanket for an adult. Adds a little security in times of weakness or fear. If you've had a spouse away on a deployment or on a dangerous job then you can relate.

Keepin' Up a Business

Keeping up a business all by yourself is hard work. How long do you spend with the kids? Cleaning? Sewing? Husband? The key is to balance everything. It's hard work, but to see a beautiful creation that started from nothing is well worth the struggle.

It's been a while since I've done a craft show. I'm hoping to do one soon, but I can't find the time to get a large amount of bags in stock. Custom orders continue to come in and I'm glad to be getting ready to put the market/shopping bags in a new store.
